HOPE Center Receives Award for Community Service

At their annual meeting and banquet on October 13th, the Van Buren County chapter of the American Red Cross presented HOPE Center members with a plaque recognizing them for their contributions to the success of community blood drives.
For the past 6 years, HOPE Center has hosted 2 blood drives a year. Members have been involved in all aspects of the drives: putting up blood drive announcements in area businesses, staffing the volunteer stations during the drives, unloading, setting up, and loading equipment and, of course, donating blood.
In March of this year, we began an on-going project of calling potential donors to remind them of a drive occurring in their area. For any blood drive in Van Buren County that cannot make their own reminder calls, the HOPE Center calling crew steps in. A calling list may have between 60 and 100 contacts to make, depending on the size of the drive. A great group of 9 members and staff have taken this project and brought it to life.
Hats off to HOPE Center members and staff for their community service efforts.

Your Place at HOPE Center
HOPE Center is a psychiatric rehabilitation center. We are a place where people come to learn to live their lives as wholly, creatively, and productively as possible. We rely upon our members’ talents, skills, and dreams in order to function. We are a place of opportunity, in which all of our participants, both staff members and group members, give and receive from each other in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.
As a member of HOPE Center, you will work side-by-side with staff and group members toward the accomplishment of personal goals, and to help HOPE Center operate. Staff members will always ask for your assistance, and to share your skills and talents.
HOPE Center strives to be a healthy network of people who care about one another and assist one another in achieving goals and aspirations. We are here together.
Let’s work together to make ourselves and HOPE Center the best we can be.
