Plan members are aware of, seek, and are connected to the right services at the right time in the right location.

Introduction

This report serves to present information on the accessibility of the services of VBCMH to the residents of our county. There are a variety of kinds of information, including cross-year comparisions, DCH performance indicator data, customer satisfaction data and comparisions to state, regional, and national data.

Results for DCH Performance Indicators related to Access to Care for FY 2005

  • 100% of persons discharged from psychiatric inpatient units have been provided a face to face service with 7 calendar days. (There is no DCH performance standard for this indicator)
  • 100% of persons requesting non-emergency service received a face to face assessment with a professional within 14 calendar days. (DCH Performance standard is 95%)
  • 100% of persons requesting a pre-admission screening for Psychiatric Hospitalization had the decision made within 3 hours. (DCH Performance standard is 95%)
  • 100% of persons requesting service after receiving an assessment received a face to face service within 14 calendar days. (DCH Performance standard is 95%)

Scores to all items related to accessiblity of services were rated higher than "good" by the 275 customers interviewed. All VBCMH and Venture scores are greater than the statistically significant relative to MHCA or national mean. VBCMH scores in blue are significantly higher than the Venture average. VBCMH scores in black are not significantly different from Venture.

Other Factors Contributing to Accessiblity of Services

  • Services available at 6 sites located throughout the county. Most services are provided on an outreach basis.
  • Initial assessments are offered on a walk-in basis.
  • Crisis services offered at VBCMH locations throughout the county as well as at both hospital emergency rooms and the jail.
  • Crisis services available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year accessible through an 800 number.
